2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use HouseLedger, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Account and sign-in information, such as your name, email address, profile photo, authentication provider, and Firebase user ID. This may come directly from you or from Google, Apple, or your email sign-in method.
- Content you add to the app, such as homes, assets, categories, documents, photos, receipts, warranties, maintenance records, notes, seller or producer details, and feedback you choose to send.
- AI-related content, such as questions you ask, chat messages, uploaded images or attachments, and related asset details when you use HouseLedger AI features.
- Usage and technical information collected through Firebase Analytics and related Firebase services, such as app interactions, approximate device and app information, and event data that helps us understand how the app is used.
- Camera and photo library access only when you choose to upload or capture photos or documents.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to create and secure your account, provide the app, sync your data across devices, store your uploaded files, and keep the service working properly.
We also use information to improve HouseLedger, understand feature usage, respond to feedback or support requests, and detect misuse, fraud, or security issues.
If you use AI features, we use relevant account content to generate item analysis, structured suggestions, and answers related to your assets.
4. Third-Party Services We Use
HouseLedger uses Firebase services provided by Google, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and Firebase Analytics.
If you choose social sign-in, Google or Apple may process your login according to their own privacy terms.
If you use AI features, relevant prompts, images, documents, and related asset information may be processed through OpenAI via secure backend functions in order to generate responses or analysis.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information only when necessary to operate HouseLedger, for example with Google Firebase services that host authentication, database, storage, backend logic, and analytics, and with OpenAI when you actively use AI features.
We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the app, or others.
6. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as it is reasonably needed to operate HouseLedger, maintain your account, provide requested features, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.
Different Firebase and service-provider systems may retain technical logs, backups, or analytics records for limited periods according to their own retention settings and policies.
7. International Processing
Because HouseLedger relies on cloud service providers, your information may be processed on servers outside your country of residence, including in countries that may have different data protection laws.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You can manage much of the information you add to HouseLedger directly in the app.

9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including the security features available through Firebase and access controls within the app.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
10. Children's Privacy
HouseLedger is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date shown on this page.
